Trentino-Alto Adige is Italy at its most Nordic: a bilingual region where Italian and German are both official languages, where the food draws as much from Austrian and Tyrolean tradition as from the Italian south, and where the landscape is dominated by the Dolomites – a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in the world. The pale limestone towers of the Pale di San Martino, the Rosengarten and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo are known to walkers everywhere. Less known, but equally compelling, are the deep valleys: the Val Gardena, the Val di Fassa, the Val Venosta – each with its own dialect, its own food tradition and its own distinct character. Lake Garda’s northern shore, sheltered and Mediterranean in feel, belongs to this region too.

Arrival and transfer to the beautiful Val di Funes, one of the most iconic valleys of the Dolomites. Settle into your mountain hotel surrounded by alpine landscapes and enjoy your first evening immersed in the peaceful atmosphere beneath the dramatic peaks of the Odle Group.
Begin your exploration of the Dolomites with a scenic hike through forests and mountain streams towards the spectacular landscapes beneath the Odle peaks. Follow the panoramic Adolf Munkel Trail and discover traditional alpine huts once used for summer grazing and cheese production, surrounded by some of the most recognisable mountain scenery in South Tyrol.
A more challenging and rewarding day leads to Col di Poma at 2,422 metres through one of the most dramatic mountain environments of the trip. Passing Rifugio Genova, reach an extraordinary natural amphitheatre framed by rocky walls and high-altitude landscapes dominated by the imposing Sass Rigais and the peaks of the Puez–Odle Nature Park.
Enjoy your final hike in Val di Funes along trails following mountain streams and climbing beneath the spectacular walls of Fermeda and Seceda. Reach Rifugio Brogles to admire one of the most celebrated panoramic viewpoints in the Dolomites before transferring eastwards to Val Pusteria for the next stage of the journey.
Experience one of the most iconic hikes in the entire Dolomite range. Starting from Rifugio Auronzo, walk around the world-famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo following panoramic trails surrounded by alpine meadows, rugged peaks and extraordinary views towards Crodarossa, Monte Paterno and the surrounding mountain groups.
Reach the panoramic plateau of Prato Piazza and hike to the summit of Strudelkopf, one of the finest viewpoints in the eastern Dolomites. From the summit, admire unforgettable views of Tre Cime, Monte Cristallo and Monte Piana before ending the day with a visit and cheese tasting experience at Mondo Latte.
Cross landscapes suspended between Italy and Austria on a spectacular ridge walk in the Carnic Alps. After reaching Mount Elmo by cable car, follow historic mountain routes to Sillianerhütte and descend through alpine pastures and mountain huts of Klammbachalm, surrounded by sweeping views across both sides of the border.
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport for departure, bringing to an end a journey through some of the most spectacular mountain landscapes of the Dolomites.
